Invitation to the Summer School

in the Universel Murad Hassil

A Message of Spiritual Liberty

Hereby we would like to invite you most heartily to the Summer School 2010,

which will be held in the Universel Murad Hassil in Katwijk aan Zee, The Netherlands.

We are privileged to meet our Sufi brothers and sisters from all over the world

and to experience a harmonious and sacred atmosphere. Our beloved Master Hazrat

Inayat Khan wished for this place to be called “Murad Hassil”, which means “Wish

fulfilled”.

Hazrat Inayat Khan left India in 1910 with a mission and we commemorate in

2010 the start of his journey to the West. We have chosen as theme of this Summer

School : “A Message of Spiritual Liberty”, to make us conscious of the Message he

left.

Our beloved Master says in ‘Freedom of the soul’: “The ultimate freedom of the soul

is gained by concentration, by meditation, by contemplation, and realization... and the

realization is this, that whatever voice comes to one is God’s voice, every guidance is God’s

guidance, every impulse is divine impulse, every action is done by God. It is in this way that

the soul is made free and in the freedom of the soul lies the purpose of life.”

By realizing the freedom of the soul we keep alive the wonderful Message of Spiritual

Liberty of our beloved Master .

On the program we have yoga, lectures and Sacred Readings, breathing and

concentration exercises, Dances of Universal Peace, the Universal Worship and we will

sing together.

In the evenings the Singing Zikar will take place several times. Doing the Singing Zikar

is a sacred and mystical experience. “We are calling”, as Murshid Hidayat says, “the

Divine Presence to come within the temple of our heart”.

July 14th we have a Retreat open for both mureeds and Brother/Sisterhood members.

The program of this Retreat will be handed out at the registration desk.

The children have their own Summer School. On Friday 16th, Saturday 17th and

Sunday 18th the youngsters (12>) are welcome and the younger children (6>) will

join them on Saturday and Sunday. If you have any queries about the children’s program,

will receive their own invitation.

Also this year, on Monday 19th, there is an opportunity to go to The Hague for a

commemoration of the Companions and a visit to the Sufi Museum in the Banstraat

where we also have lunch together, watch a film and listen to the music of the

Companions. In the evening some Sufis will perform at the Artistic Evening in Murad

Hassil.

Each day we are inspired by the specific color, which corresponds to one of the five

Elements: yellow for earth, green for water, red for fire, blue for air, mother of pearl for

ether, and when we are attuned to the vibrations of these elements we can feel their

helpful influences on our state of mind.

Domestic tasks are inevitable. There is a list of all “things to do” in the Wakilhouse,

please look at the list after your registration. We would like to propose, while doing

these tasks, to do a meditative breath, a Fikar. It is a rhythmic breathing practice in

combination with a mental repetition of a Wazifa. When the breath is rhythmic, everything

functions harmoniously. It will be a joy doing things together in a meditative

atmosphere. The village speaker will inform you about the Wazifa.

We hope to meet many Sufi friends from all over the world and to discover what

Hazrat Inayat Khan meant by his Message of Spiritual Liberty.
